A new chapter at FCO
FCO and its Board of Directors are announcing that effective December 31, 2019, Lorraine Purdon, FCO Executive Director, is retiring.
Lorraine has been with FCO since 2008, when FCO was a program of the Self-Help Resource Centre. During her tenure, Lorraine has worked tirelessly to connect with government and community stakeholders, support research initiatives that improve the lives of people living in long-term care, develop a strong and stable organization, and support Family Council members and home staff across Ontario. Lorraine’s crowning achievement was to lead the development of Family Councils of Ontario, a registered non-profit provincial organization.
We are so pleased to have had the pleasure of working alongside Lorraine and will miss her greatly. We wish her all the best in the future!
The FCO Board of Directors is thrilled to announce that Samantha (Sam) Peck, currently the Director of Communications and Education, will be the next FCO Executive Director (as of January 1st 2020). The FCO Board has full confidence in Samantha’s ability to lead the organization and is looking forward to working with her to achieve FCO’s mission to lead and support families in improving quality of life in long-term care.
Sam has been with FCO since 2008. In fact, Lorraine and Sam started at FCO within six weeks of each other! Since then, Sam has developed and executed the education and communication strategies, created strong relationships with community and government partners, helped thousands of Council members and home staff create effective Councils and collaborative relationships, represented the organization at countless tables, and much more. FCO would not be in this new strong position if it weren’t for her dedication and hard work!
On behalf of the FCO Board of Directors, I thank Lorraine for her years of hard work and welcome Sam as the incoming FCO Executive Director!
