Understanding Cannabis and Alcohol in Later Life

Presented by the Toronto Public Library

This evidence-based workshop is intended for older adults, their families and anyone who wants to understand cannabis and alcohol use in later life. Both cannabis and alcohol are legal drugs in Canada. Cannabis is used for many medical and non-medical reasons. Very little is known about the effect of cannabis on seniors because it is only recently legal. This workshop will examone problematic use of both alcohol and cannabis and will offer guidelines to minimize risk.

The workshop is part of a series: Understanding Mental Health and Well-being in Later Life, developed by the Provincial System Support Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) with funding from the Ontario Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility. It will be delivered by Hope & Me, the Mood Disorders Association of Ontario.
