IFA Global Cafe: In Conversation with Dr Nereide Alhena Curreri on "Rural Communities for Supporting Ageing-Wellbeing in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa"
Presented by IFA Global Cafe
Globally, the ageing population is growing, and their health is becoming a public health problem. In 2040, the older population’s growth rate in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) will be faster than those experienced by developed nations since 1950. i
More evidence and data are needed to understand the status and needs of older people in the SSA, according to the United Nations.
As a gerontologist, PhD in dementia studies and research assistant, Dr Nereide Alhena Curreri with share her extensive experience in collaborating in EU projects on health and social care integration for older adults and families with dementia and also working on cross-national projects using mixed methods.
