Throughout November we've been focussing on Long-Term Care & Finances. The financial aspect of aging and Long-Term Care is important to families and Family Councils as they seek to understand more about how the system as a whole works and think through the financial implications of high-level care.
What are some ways that Family Council members can learn more about the financial aspect of LTC to be more knowledgable about how the system works?
- Use the Ministry of Health's website to learn more about the Long-Term Care system
- Talk to your Home's administrator for specific questions about funding (they'll provide you with details as per the requirements of the Long-Term Care Homes Act)
- Review the Long-Term Care Homes Act to find out what information a Council can ask for
