Family Council
  • Location: Maxville,
  • LHIN: Champlain

The Maxville Manor Family Council is an autonomous, self-governed group of volunteers; more specifically family and friends/persons of importance to residents whose common goal is the enhancement of quality care for the residents. We provide constructive advice, advocate for families and liaise with the CEO, Director of Care and representatives of the Resident’s Council to promote person-centered care and to arrive at positive solutions. We believe in education with information sessions on Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, MS and Planning for End of Life as well as the FLTCA and Residents Bill of Rights. We strive to meet bi-monthly in the evening to best accommodate work schedules. We have started holding hybrid meetings via Zoom as well as in person at the Manor. Typical meetings consist of 6 -12 persons including guests. The current chair is Rainer Pethke who monitors the familycouncil@maxvillemanor.ca email.
