Navigating the Balance of Work and Caring for Aging Parents

Presented by The Village Family Service Centre

Advice for employees who are dealing with this physically and emotionally demanding chapter in life, as well as their organizations

About this event

Though often unspoken, the weight of caring for parents as their health declines plays a significant role on life stress and naturally spills over into both work productivity and attendance. Join Village Business Institute Trainer Tanya Fraizer and representatives from the Alzheimer’s Association of Minnesota-North Dakota as they explore the challenges of this process as well as supports available to both individuals in new levels of caretaking roles as well as those who employ them.

In this training, we will:

  • Discuss the realities of supporting aging family members and the tolls it takes on a person, both in their personal life as well as work life – whether someone is experiencing this now or will in the future
  • Provide support strategies for coping with new and often unexpected realities and ways to help re-establish a new sense of balance
  • Identify ways in which employers, co-workers, and organizations as a whole can provide much needed support to those facing these new life roles

This free session will start at noon Central on Wednesday, June 8, and will include time for questions and answers.
